Welcome to State Park Buddy, your guide to the parks, campgrounds and forests of Michigan.

We're here to help you navigate the world of Michigan's State Parks with field reports, advice and recommendations. We still have a ways to go, but our hope to post a field report of every single State Park in Michigan, including the State Forest campgrounds.

Meet Buddy, Brandon and Lindsey

Buddy is our pet, our mascot and our canine correspondant.

He accompanies us on most of our trips to Michigan's state park, and gives us a dog's POV of Michigan Parks.

Brandon is the writer.

He also snaps most of the pics. He's a novelist, musician and a freelance copywriter who works from camp a lot.

Lindsey is the trip planner.

She scopes out sites, plans activities and finds the best restaurants. You can sometimes find her serving wine at Mawby in Leelanau county, Michigan.

You'll be able to keep up with new posts, get reminders about when it's time to start reserving sites for upcoming trips, and comment on our posts.
